Welcome to Bishop's Tachbrook

Leaving a gift in your Will

Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you have already given us! We are here for only a moment, visitors and strangers in the land as our ancestors were before us. Our days on earth are like a shadow, gone so soon without a trace. O Lord our God, even these materials that we have gathered to build a temple to honour your holy name come from you! It all belongs to you!

Have you considered leaving a gift to St Chad’s in your Will? A gift in your Will could have a huge impact on the life of the church in this village. .

For many churches, including St Chad’s, regular giving is absorbed in ‘keeping the show on the road’ – paying the parish share, insuring and heating the building, repairing the roof and so on. A gift from your estate is different; at St Chad’s we have a have a legacy policy stating that we will not use gifts in Wills for everyday expenditure; instead, the PCC promises to spend your gift on a special project to make a difference to the life and witness of the church. It will not be spent on the St Chad’s Centre unless you specify that that is what you would like.

For example, a gift in your Will could support our ministry to young people, refurbish the Tower Room, preserve our historic church bells, equip the church with new Bibles or vestments, and much more. Many of the repairs to the church, for example the wall outside which cost £24,000 to repair, happened because of a generous bequest by Dr. Croft.

Gifts in Wills are an important part of Christian giving. Many of us give regularly to the church each week or month from our income; why not from our estates too? It’s also a way to give thanks to God for the gifts of your life and lifetime.

A gift in your Will really could be the gift that makes possible St Chad’s future!
