A46 full weekend closures – February 2025

Preparatory works are scheduled on the A46 near Kenilworth in February 2025 to facilitate the installation of a structure that will carry the new HS2 rail line beneath the A46. The structure, known as the A46 box, is 63.4 meters long, weighs approximately 15,000 tonnes, and is currently being constructed adjacent to the road. It is planned to be moved into position during a full road closure in April 2025.

To complete the preparatory works safely, two temporary full weekend closures of the A46 are required. During these closures, a signed diversion route will be in place. The scheduled closures are as follows:

Weekend Closures:

  • Friday, 7 February 2025, from 8:00 PM, to Monday, 10 February 2025, at 6:00 AM
  • Friday, 14 February 2025, from 8:00 PM, to Monday, 17 February 2025, at 6:00 AM

The road will be reopened once the work is completed and deemed safe.
