COP27 in Warwick District event

Warwick District Council is inviting local residents interested in reducing their carbon impact to a community event at the Town Hall in Leamington next month.

Taking place on Saturday 5 November from 10am to 1pm, the event features talks and presentations from a number of local community groups and organisations that have led the way in reducing the climate impact in their local community, inspiring others to do the same.

The event will be held the day before COP27 begins in Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt. The annual United Nations Climate Change Conference brings together leaders from across the world to work together to confront the climate crisis.

Kenilworth All Together Greener, Low Carbon Warwickshire, Bar Zero Barford and Heart of England Forest are just some of those that will be talking at the event, and there will also be updates from Warwick District Council’s Climate Change team on the Council’s Climate Change Action Programme.

The event offers residents the chance to be inspired to take action in their local community, to hear from and speak to others currently active in their community and understand the role that the Council has in ensuring that the area of South Warwickshire is low carbon by 2030.

Spaces are limited and entry is by ticket only. The event is free to attend, and residents are encouraged to book their ticket now at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cop27-in-warwick-district-think-global-act-local-tickets-440314611857
