Countdown to Commonwealth Games event comes to Whitnash

On Wednesday 28 July it will be one year to go until the start of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. To mark this milestone a day of sport and fun will be held at Washbourne Fields in Whitnash from 10am until 2pm.

Entry to this event is free with opportunities to have a go at some of the Commonwealth Games’ sports such as new age bowls and basketball.

Local people are encouraged to bring their bikes along to this day of activities, where the Whitnash Safer Neighbourhood Team will be on hand to provide QR coded anti-tamper stickers. There will also be ice cream and a range of snacks and drinks for purchase.

Next year the district will be hosting the Lawn Bowls and Para Lawn Bowls events which will be taking place on the bowling greens at Victoria Park in Royal Leamington Spa as well as the start and finish of the Road Cycling event which will start and finish at St Nicholas Park in Warwick.
