Do you need help to access food and manage your money this winter?

The COVID Winter Grant scheme has gone live today and details on how to access this can be found online at www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-winter-grant-scheme.

The grant will be available to the end of March 2021 to help vulnerable residents who are struggling to afford food and utility bills (heating, cooking, lighting) and water for household purposes (including drinking, washing, cooking, central heating, sewerage and sanitary purposes), or other related essentials.

Administration of the Grant will be through Warwickshire County Council’s Local Welfare Scheme. The Local Welfare Scheme helps our most vulnerable residents at times of unavoidable crisis when they have no other means of help and it can provide financial support and advice for people who need support to access food and utilities. The Scheme also signposts to further support available from other public, community and voluntary services around the county.

Families with children eligible for benefits related free school meals who are at school are automatically eligible for support and have already been contacted. Other families with children under 19 years old who are struggling can apply for support during the Christmas school holidays by contacting advisors in the Local Welfare Team.
