Hi, I’m Elaine Scrivens and I’m the Priest-in-Charge of The parish of Bishop’s Tachbrook. I arrived in the parish, along with my husband Jim, in September 2010 and I thank God for bringing me to such a lovely parish.

Jim is a Professor of Life Science at the University of Warwick and we have three sons, Adam, Owen and Luke. Before ordination I was a secondary school teacher of English and Drama. Jim and I met in school in a small mining village in South Wales and so we are both great rugby fans but we’ve also lived in the North East for many years and so are also Middlesbrough supporters (Jim still has his season ticket!)

After ordination I spent four years as a Self-supporting minister in a parish in Redcar (this meant that I carried on teaching) and then became a School Chaplain in the Venerable Bede Church of England Secondary School in Sunderland. Both Jim and I love the North East of England but we are very happy in Warwickshire as we both enjoy the theatre and know are so lucky to have Stratford on our doorstep and London not too far away on the train.
