Warwick District Council is launching a once in a generation opportunity for artists, creatives, cultural venues, and heritage sites in the district to showcase what they have to offer at a month-long CultureFest; due to take place in the build-up to and following the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

CultureFest aims to encourage the people who live, work and visit the area during the time of the Games to discover or rediscover world-class venues and artists across our four towns of Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick, Kenilworth and Whitnash. Visitors will be able to experience all that the district has to offer from Saturday 16 July to Sunday 21 August 2022.

There are many ways to get involved at CultureFest such as volunteering to assist with the smooth running of the activities and events to ensure that visitors have a positive and enjoyable experience.

There will also be an opportunity to apply to feature at the event in the cultural programme or simply attend and participate in CultureFest events and activities.

Artists and creatives who want to perform at CultureFest are encouraged to download a new toolkit, this will be available from the CultureFest website in October 2021. The toolkit will outline the selection process and criteria.

As well as fantastic cultural activities, elements of the official sports programme for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will be staged in the district.

During July and August 2022, the Lawn Bowls and Para Lawn Bowls competition will be taking place at the bowling greens in Royal Leamington Spa’s Victoria Park and the start and finish of the Cycling Road Race is being held in St Nicholas Park in Warwick.
