Don’t chuck it!
Mending is a practical way to help beat climate change, save money, reduce landfill and provide a really useful service for Bishop’s Brachbrook residents.
We need people with all manner of practical skills to work in the new Bishop’s Tachbrook Repair Café (venue to agreed).
Open for a couple of hours every month, residents will be able to bring along their broken things – faulty lamps, power tools, toys, lawnmowers, clothes, furniture, you name it – and, as a member of the repair team, you’ll get to work giving a new lease of life to everyday items.
And if any fixed item is no longer needed by the owner, it can be exchanged or donated to charities.
Help create a social hub
As well as the practical, the Repair Cafe will be a great social gathering. You can chat over coffee and cake, while you make people happy by repairing their useful and special possession.
As an expert, you can also give talks and provide tips on repair techniques, offer advice on DIY home energy-saving improvements and share your views on a whole host of ideas, from minimising food waste to the best ways to ditch fossil fuels.
